gphoto2 software package provides digital camera command-line client, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gphoto2
gphoto2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gphoto2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gphoto2 *
You will get with gphoto2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
